Dear Friends,
A lot has happened in the last month…
Sorry to keep you waiting to hear about the emergency
meeting with the director of all Peruvian civil aviation
mid-September. At the meeting I was able to show
some pictures of our ministries in the mountains,
a video clip of my flying into the Ingenio airstrip
perched on the edge of a cliff and talk about our
unique qualifications to operate out of these mountain
airstrips. I was surprised to see the director shed
a tear when we talked about helping the people medically
as he remembered trying to help a little mountain
girl that died despite his help. Various times he
reiterated that he appreciates our years of work
and wants to see us fly again! We talked about the
need for and almost certain approval of the new law
we proposed for private airstrips. That approval
is still off in the future, maybe 6 months. The problematic
engineer from Airport Infrastructure (AI) was in
attendance and the crucial point came when I asked
the director to personally authorize use of our airstrips “as
is” until the new law comes into effect. The
engineer kept talking about the need for larger and
better airstrips for safety sake. I replied that
if I could use these strips, as they were, for 10
years with no problems, then why does AI not want
to let me continue to do so? The engineer started
to argue but I explained to the director that our
specialized training prepares us to evaluate all
the factors and manage the risk.
The director agreed and lectured the engineer about
the acceptable risk factor and with “no risk,
no progress” in a country that needs progress
and if we focus on “what if” we will
be paralyzed. In my mind I was shouting for joy!
The director then said he would employ a rule that
lets them temporarily authorize our airstrips for
3 months with another 3 months optional.
My feet barely touched the floor as I left that
meeting and then to my great surprise the sub directors
started calling my cell phone to say they are working
to help us get in the air again! The shocker was
when the director of Airport Infrastructure and the
engineer invited me to a meeting later that morning
to teach them about small aircraft operations and
performance. Thank you so much for your prayers for
those days!
Two steps forward…one step back. Just when
we thought everything was starting to move along
smoothly the govt. sent me a notice to re-submit
some official documents that were supposed to have
come out of another govt. office in the jungle city
of Iquitos. After a number of phone calls I discovered
problems that had not been resolved and the papers
were being delayed again though the process has dragged
out for over 2 years. Please pray for resolution
to these paperwork problems that have to do my being
able to represent the mission legally as well as
the mission registration.
Answers to Prayer:
The first Youth Leaders Training Conference with
Cheryl Fawcett (ABWE/Vision for Youth) presented
six workshops to 95 youth leaders and workers from
13 different churches. The Lord enabled Dorothy to
do all the translation and it was a joy for her to
work with the young adult team who worked out many
of the logistics. Attendees took careful notes, gave
much positive feedback regarding the helpfulness
of the teaching and received an impressive certificate
to encourage them for their effort. Cheryl had other
opportunities to share Christ in local churches,
a tea for unsaved women in our home and with the
women of the churches here… we even got to
judge an English drama contest in a military school
for 500 elementary & high school students.
God answered prayer for safety during our long,
hard drive up into the mountains further north, almost
to Ecuador,

for the Bible conference in the high Andes’ town
of Pechuquiz late September.
The people were warm though the temperatures were cold
at over 10,000 ft. above sea level.
We ate small potatoes morning, noon and night!
This was the 1st time the teens (about 70) and children
(about 50) had their own teaching and activities thanks
to Davy, David, Sally & Heidi.

I thoroughly enjoyed my opportunities to teach to up
to 300 adults
and help with many people’s medical needs.

I took my friend, Segundo who had his first opportunity
to preach and I was able to lead one man to the Lord.
Pray that the churches put into practice all we taught
from God’s Word regarding qualities of church
leadership, the truly Christian life and especially
the need for youth groups in their isolated mountain
towns.
Heidi is now investing three months in Chiclayo
through mid-December. She is helping out in practical
ways at the Crisis Pregnancy Center, encouraging
a local church youth group, and making new friends.
Pray that her involvement at an orphanage nearby
will give her opportunities to tell the kids about
Christ. Her Spanish is improving daily. Pray for
her time here to be effective and life changing.
Thank you for your prayers for Dorothy as she weekly
disciples Carmen and Charo, new believers from the
Sunday night Bible Study. Special prayer requests
would be that the Holy Spirit would open their eyes
to the unbiblical catholic traditions of idolatry
and erroneous doctrine as well as special wisdom
for Dorothy as she shows this to them from God’s
word. As we encounter religious processions on the
streets, in this month of the “Lord of Miracles” we
are reminded of the hold the false teachings have
on people. These processions show no joy, play mournful
music and keep people bound together by traditional
worship of Mary and Christ crucified on the cross.
Please continue to pray for the salvation of the
other members of our Sunday night group and for my
preparation as I teach.
When a team from the New Hope Pregnancy Care Center
taught a one time work shop on sexual purity at an
institute of 250 students here in Chiclayo, little
did we know the impact. Both September and October
have seen record numbers coming for counseling, at
least one baby saved and weekly girls have been accepting
Christ as Savior. Dorothy would appreciate your prayers
for wisdom as she has been asked to be the Disciplcship
Coordinator of the trained volunteers who disciple
these new believers. As the school year draws to
an end and the Christmas activities start, we will
be winding down our last workshops. Please pray for
these high school students to have their hearts and
minds open to the truth of God’s plan for purity
in their lives and the salvation of their souls as
the Gospel is presented. The excitement is mounting
as we prepare to celebrate the Center’s First
Year Anniversary, November 10 & 11 with a fund
raising banquet and thanksgiving service. Please
be in prayer these weeks, as many at the Center here
and friends from the U.S. plan and prepare for these
opportunities. We are hoping to expose more people
to this ministry among our churches and reach out
to the community by inviting many unsaved, interested
friends.
We thank the Lord that Tim, Virgie and Hannah Farley
are due to arrive in Chiclayo Nov 2rd .
They will need to find a house to rent, unpack all
their stored belongings, buy a vehicle and get back
into the ministry again. Pray for these needs and
a smooth transition.
We are thankful to the Lord that my dad’s
biopsies came back negative but we pray that he will
regain strength and weight. Please pray as Mom is
still trying to get her cerebral fluid drain adjusted
correctly to eliminate the dizziness and severe headaches.
Thank you for being the kind of friends who support
us with love and prayers.
Together for Him,
Glenn, Dorothy & David
