Current prayer requests from the Stones in Peru

1. January 28th a very special young man, Matthew Leahy, called us to ask for our daughter Lisa's hand in marriage. He declared his fervent love for God and for her, and committed to loving and caring for her for the rest of his life. We gave him our blessing, and two days later a very happy and excited Lisa called to share about her engagement. The wedding is planned for July 2004. More details to follow as the date draws nearer! We first met Matthew in May when he and Lisa graduated together from Baptist Bible College of PA. Please pray for the happy couple as they look forward to serving the Lord together.

2. Pray for Vacation Bible School at the Chapel on the Rock of the New Life Baptist Church February 9-13, 2004. We are expecting over 100 children. We distributed 600 flyers to homes in the neighborhood, and also gave church calendars to the families that lived closest to the church.

3. Pray for the Third International Baptists For Life Conference sponsored by the New Life Prenatal Center here in Lima to be held February 19-21, 2004. We now have registrations for nearly 30 Peruvians, 3 Bolivians, 1 Ecuadorian, 1 Colombian missionary, 1 Swiss, 2 Australians, 1 missionary to India, and 7 from the United States, not counting the US missionaries that live and work here in Peru. It will be a time of rejoicing for the five years of ministry that the New Life Prenatal Center is celebrating, and preparing for ministry in the future.

4. We have another announcement: Our son, Jon, has been working hard to create a web site for our ABWE missionaries in Coastal Peru. Here are the links to our personal pages.
