June 21 Prayer Requests

June 21, 2004

Praise the Lord with us and pray for these requests!

1. Nine people were baptized yesterday in the Chapel on the Rock Baptist Church. All but one of them were saved through our church ministry during the past two years.

2. May 23 the Chapel on the Rock Baptist Church ordained one of our deacons, Jose Zapata, to the pastoral ministry. Jose has served our church and has been Dave’s right-hand man as an unofficial assistant pastor for the past 8 years. We will miss him greatly when he leaves next week to assume the pastorate of a Spanish-speaking church in Florida.

3. June 24 we travel to Florida for our daughter Lisa’s marriage to Matthew Leahy on July 9, 2004. Rejoice with us that they will be serving God together.

4. Pray for Evelyn’s pro-life ministry as she speaks in the following conferences: Missionary Enrichment Training Module at ABWE July 11-16; Medical Missions Interface at ABWE July 17-18; Baptists For Life Annual Summit in Grand Rapids July 29-30.

5. Before traveling to the states, we end a very profitable and busy semester at the Lima Baptist Theological Seminary. August 2 begins the new semester of classes. Pray for Dave as he continues to direct this ministry as seminary rector.

6. We praise the Lord exceedingly for the offerings from several churches that are making possible the purchase of a new computer and projector to replace the equipment stolen during our house robbery in May. Also praise the Lord that just last week the bank insurance refunded the money that was stolen from our bank account at the same time. We thank the Lord for the opportunity to testify of God’s peace in the midst of trial during this experience.
