Thanking
God for His Goodness.
Dear Praying Family,
Since we last wrote to you, God has done some wonderful
things.
The
Bible constantly mentions giving thanks to God. The
words
of David’s psalm proclaim thanks to
God for His everlasting mercy. God’s people give
thanks for His righteousness, His goodness, and His
mighty works. We thank God for being near to us.
Oh,
that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving,
And declare His works with rejoicing.
Psalm 107:21-22
As
God’s
children we all have so much to be thankful for!
We look forward to many years of thanksgiving
sacrifices as we declare the works of our wonderful
God.
A
Growing Family (again!)
This summer God gave us a new member of the family. My sister, Lisa, married
Matthew Leahy on the 9th of July. We have a new brother! :-) They had a beautiful
wedding on the beach. God even gave us three days of dry weather in Tampa, Florida!

Support Increase
We have been on the road for much of the summer. We
have visited churches in New York, Pennsylvania,
South Carolina, and Florida. God has blessed us with
good meetings. We enjoy meeting and sharing with
God’s people!
God
is providing! This summer several churches and individuals
have
joined our support team or increased
their monthly support. Last week, our home church voted
to increase our support by $200 per month. Praise the
Lord! We now have 64% of our monthly support. If we
reach 85% by November, we will be able to participate
in our mission’s biannual field preparation seminar
and could leave for language school as early as January.
Please pray with us for God to provide in His perfect
time.
Survey Trip
This week we will be traveling to Guatemala and Costa
Rica with our administrator for South America, Bob
Trout. We will be evaluating the possibility of creating
a special language school arrangement in Guatemala.
We are hoping I will be able to study at a Spanish
seminary while Angela learns to speak Spanish fluently.
Pregnancy Care Center and Medical Ministry
Angela has enjoyed several opportunities to learn about
the pregnancy care center ministry. She participated
in the seminar Evelyn (my mother) presented at ABWE’s
Missionary Enrichment Conference. ABWE’s Medical
Missions Interface challenged us with some amazing
opportunities for outreach through medicine. Medical
personnel from around the world shared how God is
using their skills to open doors. Yesterday we heard
a report on a recent 2 week medical trip to Peru.
Over 170 people made professions of faith! Angela
also attended the annual Summit Conference of Baptists
for Life in Grand Rapids. It was an inspiring and
exciting time. She can’t wait to arrive in
Peru and get to work!
Church
Planting and Provision In Peru
Two months ago Pastor Alejandro led his church in an evangelistic campaign to
kick off a new church plant in Lima. This is their sixth church plant in recent
years. God provided memorial gifts of over $500 from our home church to help
purchase supplies for the new church. |

Last
week God provided $1000 from First Baptist in
Galeton, PA for ministries in Peru. $500 from
that gift will help remodel the primary pregnancy
center in Lima so they can deliver babies. The
other $500 will help to finish a temporary church
building at the church plant in Manchay. Both
of these projects could use a few hundred dollars
more. There are always opportunities to invest
for eternity. |
