Packing, Planning, and Praying

That’s what we’re doing in this last week before Christmas. As we celebrate the greatest gift – God’s Son – we also thank God for His amazing provision. We celebrate His work in our lives. God adopted both of us into His family. He has molded our character and led our lives. He has prepared us and has also directed us to the country of Peru. What a ride we’ve had in the last 2 ½ years! After presenting our ministry in over 50 churches and sending hundreds of pieces of mail, we have watched God bring together 18 churches and 23 individuals to provide our financial support. God has given us a team of over 300 people who will receive this letter and
uphold our ministry in prayer.

Those of you who watched our puzzle come together will be happy to know the puzzle is complete! We have 100% of our monthly requirement! (We took this picture in front of a church we visited in Guatemala this summer.)

Everyone is cordially invited to our commissioning service which will be held at 10:30 AM on Sunday, January 2, 2005 at the Osterhout Bible Church.

Now we are packing, planning, and praying. You can help with that last one! We have tickets to leave on January 12 for language school in Guatemala. Our apartment is
filling with foot lockers while we look for a vehicle and an apartment in Guatemala. We will live in the colonial town of Antigua where Angela will study Spanish during this next year. Jon will commute into Guatemala City where he will study in Spanish at the Theological Seminary of Central America.

Please pray that God will be glorified in us and that we will find our sufficiency in Him. Pray for wisdom in the details of the transition to Guatemala and Peru. Pray that God will give us opportunities along this journey to share His message of adoption and reconciliation with the spiritual orphans we meet along the way.

This Christmas will be an extra special time with family as we say our goodbyes. By next Christmas we plan to be in Peru! We wish you all a merry Christmas! If we have your mailing address on our list, you will soon receive the Christmas card you see below.
