A Growing Family (again)

Starting out in Peru

Dear Praying Family,

We ran out of chairs on Sunday! Praise the Lord for 38 people who attended our Sunday service at Living Hope Baptist Church in Lima, Peru.

Please pray for the salvation of Maria Luisa. Her daughter, Melissa, was the first person to accept the Lord in our new church. They’ve come to several services and we believe she is very close to placing her faith in Christ. Please also pray that Max would be saved. His wife, Juana, is a faithful believer who has been very involved in ministry over the years.

On Friday Peru celebrated its independence day. Praise the Lord for a smooth transition to a new administration as the new president was inaugurated that day. A very hopeful sign was the visit of new president Alan Garcia and his cabinet at an evangelical church on Sunday morning. The cardinal of Peru and other Catholic leaders were quite flustered over this sign of growing religious freedom.

Our church enjoyed an all day outing on Friday. It was a great time of fellowship and we thank God for a growing sense of community within our church family. It was also a good opportunity for God to work on several people who need to be born again. Aldo and Fridda are the couple who opened their home for services. Please pray for Fridda’s sister, Carmen, to recognize her need for the Savior.

We’ve created a webpage with a number of pictures and videos of the mobile clinic ministry. Check it out at www.abweperu.org/jastone/mobileclinics.htm.

Angela is doing much better with the pregnancy. She had a cold for a couple of weeks on top of a lot of morning sickness, but seems to be over most of it now. She thinks she can feel the baby kick occasionally! Please pray for the safe arrival of our first child in December. (For family and anyone else interested click here to download a video of our baby! 14.8 MB)

Seminary registration for second semester is today and tomorrow. Please pray that God would provide financially for the students. Several members of Living Hope are taking classes. I will be teaching Greek 2.

We praise the Lord and thank you for your prayers and for several special gifts. God provides!

In Him,
Jonathan & Angela Stone
