Dear Praying Family,
My back surgery on
Wednesday went very well. The surgeon removed a 3.5 inch disc
fragment from the spinal canal.
It was one of the
largest he’s seen. No wonder I was uncomfortable! Praise the
Lord, he didn’t have to cut any muscles or ligaments. I felt
immediate relief from some of the symptoms (although my leg is still
numb) and was able to walk up and down the hall within a few hours.
They kept me overnight at the hospital, but I’ve been lounging
around at home since then. Angela is carrying an extra heavy load
since I’m not allowed to pick up the kids for a while yet.
Thank you for your prayers! We have certainly seen God’s hand
at work in the whole experience. At 2:30 AM during the night I spent
in the hospital they brought a Hispanic man in to occupy the second
bed in my room. But he didn’t speak English! So I spoke up
and offered to translate. Everyone was quite grateful for the remarkable
coincidence (isn’t God’s providence amazing?). I didn’t
have an opportunity to discuss spiritual matters since Noel was on
morphine and went to sleep soon after they finished the whole admissions
process. They took him to surgery early the next morning and I was
gone before he came back. I left him a Spanish Bible and tract and
my phone number. I don’t know what God might have in store
for Noel, but I would ask you to pray for his physical and spiritual
health.
In His Hands,
Jonathan Stone
