2003 Praise the Lord! We have passed 1/3 of our required support level! Thanks to several new members of our support team, we are moving steadily toward our goal. Lord willing, we would like to see our financial support level reach 50% this summer. He is able! Praise the Lord for an opportunity to briefly visit Peru. As I write this letter we have just completed our second day of a strategic planning session with the Lima team of ABWE missionaries. This is a wonderful opportunity to evaluate our future role in ministry over the next ten years in Lima. We are also enjoying reconnecting with our Peruvian family. These trips are never long enough! In these first two days, we have already gained a greater appreciation for the diversity, dedication, and unity of this team of missionaries. Today we looked back briefly at what God has accomplished through this team since the 1950’s. God has saved many souls and grown His church here over the years. He has provided in amazing ways. Since 1986 the five churches begun under the To Lima with Love project have sent 12 missionaries to the mission fields of Peru and the rest of the world! Yesterday I participated in a meeting of ABWE missionaries with a Peruvian mission agency as they discussed partnering together to send a Peruvian couple to Spain as missionaries. God is at work through His people in Peru! We can’t wait to join this harvest. On our way to Peru we visited Fellowship Baptist Church (Deltona) and Maranatha Baptist Church (Sebring) in Florida. Since I’m too young to rent a car (without paying an extra $20 per day!) Angela drove 600 miles round trip from Miami. :-) Our time in these churches was very encouraging. What a blessing it is to be a part of the family of God! You will probably hear from us again soon as we complete this trip.
