Abundantly
Above!
Glory “to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly
above all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20)! That
was the first verse that came to my mind as we watched God
provide this week. Last week we asked you to pray that God
would provide $500 in monthly support by Wednesday. It’s
a God-sized challenge! We were hoping to get close enough
to the required support level that our mission would allow
us to attend the Field Preparation Seminar in November. My
faith still needs some growing. :-)
One time when
I was child growing up in Peru, my father challenged our
Peruvian church to pray that God would give
us a church building in two weeks. God provided. Later, God
moved the landlord to sell us both the church and the future
parsonage building next door for $6,000. I’ve seen
God exceed my expectations before, but the experience never
gets old!
| In four days
God provided over $600 in monthly support! We have
registered for the seminar. We lack just $550 to reach
full support and leave for language school. Please
continue praying with us. |

We
have been feeling rather giddy lately! God answered your
prayers. We are
on track to leave in January. Then we started
to think, “Wow! We have to be ready to leave in 2 ½ months!” Please
pray specifically for Angela as she prepares to leave the
place she has called home most of her life. This move is
exciting, but it also brings the sadness of leaving family.
Ordination Report
| My
ordination service on Sunday was a very special time
for us. My uncle, Dr. Rodney Decker, preached on 1
Corinthians 1:17-2:5. The priority of my ministry must
always be to proclaim the gospel. Faith will depend
on the Spirit’s power, not on my eloquence
or wisdom. Our pastor, Brian Williams, challenged the church
to stand behind us in prayer and support
as they send us to Peru. My
grandfather, Victor |
|
| Decker, challenged
me from 2 Tim 1 to be faithful and careful in holding,
handling, and carrying the message. I must keep the
message fresh and fan into flame the gift God has given
me. I am not sufficient, but my sufficiency for ministry
comes from God (2 Corinthians 3:4-6). |
Our hearts our full. We are rejoicing and thanking God for
His blessings. His ability to exceed our expectations applies
directly to His powerful working in our lives (Ephesians
3:20). We ask you to pray that God will make us into useful
vessels for His work.
