Dear Praying Family,

God is great! All the time!

In a couple hours we pick up Jon’s parents at the airport! They will be here for one short week. Monday through Thursday we will participate in conferences on abortion, STD’s, and abstinence in public schools in Guatemala City. Evelyn Stone will speak to the students and an evangelist will present the gospel at each school. We will be available to council with students who respond to the gospel. We will be in 4 schools each day. Please pray for the students who will hear these conferences! Please pray for logistics to work out and for us to have endurance throughout the week. We’re looking forward to an exciting week!

From Jon:

The first time I met with Eric (one of the men who accepted the Lord several weeks ago) for discipleship he brought his 13 year old son, Junior. Junior accepted the Lord! Please continue praying for the salvation of Eric’s wife, Carmen, his father, and his other children.

From Angela:

I have been volunteering at a local medical clinic 3 afternoons a week. It’s a great experience. I have been in with the doctor seeing the patients and getting medications for them from our pharmacy. Please pray for opportunities to reach out to the doctor, nurse and secretary that I work with. Please pray for an interest in Spiritual things.

God is great! He is at work. I wrote about some of my Guatemalan friends in an earlier prayer letter. I started a Bible study with Brenda several weeks ago. She works at a local store. We meet every Tuesday at 3 pm. She seemed interested in understanding the Bible, but she may simply be grateful for someone to talk to. We are working through the book of 1 John. Please pray that I will be able to explain things in Spanish, that Brenda would understand, and most of all, that her heart would be open to the Word of God.

Liz was my teacher for 3 months while my first teacher, Katia, was on maternity leave. I am praying for an opportunity to start the same Bible study with her. She has been open to the Gospel, but does not have a genuine relationship with God yet. Please pray that she would understand what it is to have a true relationship with God and that I might be able to study the Bible with her.

Please pray for my Spanish teacher, Katia, and her family. She came to know God when she was 11, but has not attended church regularly in many years. Her family is strongly Catholic. Since she has a new baby, her husband and in-laws have been pressuring her to have the baby baptized. She has many questions about the Bible and living the Christian life. Please pray that she would be encouraged by our conversations. Pray that she would find truth in reading the Bible and would begin attending a Bible teaching church. Pray for great wisdom in handling the family pressures. Pray for the salvation of her family.

In Him,

Jonathan & Angela Stone
