A Growing Family (again)

Starting out in Peru

Dear Praying Family,

I woke up this morning and heard a flock of sheep bleating. It sounded like I was back at my grandparents’ farm in Pennsylvania! But I’m writing to you from northern Peru (about 11 hours from Lima). We are completing our orientation to the ministries of ABWE in Peru by visiting a missionary family in the city of Chiclayo.

Next week we will be traveling 6 hours south of Lima to the city of Nazca for a mobile clinic. Please pray that many people would hear a clear presentation of the gospel. Pray for many to find spiritual life as we offer help for their physical needs.

Last Sunday we celebrated our first Lord’s Supper at the Living Hope Baptist Church! We just completed a series on Bible doctrine as we work toward the formal organization of the church. Please pray for wisdom as we work on the process of legally organizing the church.

Please pray for wisdom in our housing situation. Our current landlord has problems with the bank and we may need to move by the end of the year. One of the pastors’ families will need to move into the area where we’re starting the church. However, housing is very expensive. Our best option so far is $1,200 per month! We would love to buy a house, but financing is hard to obtain and interest runs about 12-14%.

It’s a girl! At least the doctor is pretty sure of it. :-) Our baby is growing and kicking! Angela has some rough days, but the pregnancy is going well. Due date is December 21.

In Him,
Jonathan & Angela Stone
